2014 Charity Ball:
On Saturday 18th October 2014, Grimscote Manor Hotel held their annual charity function, in aid of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Mercian Regiment, Coleshill British Legion and Tamworth British Legion. These are four organisations that all play a vital part in helping our injured servicemen and women and also their families through the difficult times which they can suffer. Over 110 guests attended the spectacular evening, which included a 3 course meal, cabaret, disco and raffle.
The cabaret was performed by a female singer of great voice, Emma Lori and the disco was hosted by Dave Scott; both of whom very kindly gave their services free of charge.
Somewhere in the region of 50 raffle prizes were generously donated by local businesses from Coleshill and Tamworth to help the cause, and the raffle succeeded in raising nearly £600.
The owners of Grimscote Manor Hotel, Steve and Gillian donated all the evenings’ profits to the four different organisations, split equally between them, including all staffs wages. The total amount raised was a staggering £3,000.00.
David & Patricia Woodward, who are the official, local representatives for this charity, will be arranging a special bequest from Steve and Gillian; they have asked for Christmas vouchers to be distributed equally between the four organisations, for them to then distribute to people in their local communities. These vouchers were kindly organised with the help of Asda Tamworth.
The evening was a World War One themed ball, with optional WW1 style dress and was a great success. It was attended by the Mayors of Coleshill and North Warwickshire along with many other officers from the Mercian Regiment and Royal British Legions.
Steve, Gillian and all the staff at Grimscote Manor Hotel would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended the evening and made it the huge success it was, as well as those who very kindly donated a raffle prize. The final, special thank you goes to David and Patricia Woodward who were a major part of organising the event. They do not receive the recognition they deserve as they are an extremely caring couple who live truly selfless lives.
